Dr. James Henson began practicing orthodontics in 1990 and faithfully served the Lake Jackson and Angleton communities for more than 25 years. After earning his doctorate in dentistry, he opened a private general dentistry practice and later contributed to dental education as a part-time instructor at the University of Texas at Houston. He ultimately pursued advanced training in orthodontics, completing his Specialized Orthodontic Degree at the University of Texas.
Throughout his career, Dr. Henson was regarded as a dedicated and knowledgeable member of the dental community. He participated in professional organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association, and he frequently shared helpful information with the public through lectures on oral hygiene and dental health. He stayed current with evolving treatment options—including clear aligner therapy—to offer patients thoughtful, individualized care.
A lifelong Texan and Houston native, Dr. Henson balanced his professional commitments with time spent golfing, saltwater fishing, and enjoying life with his wife and four children.
For decades, Dr. Henson provided compassionate orthodontic care to the families of Lake Jackson, helping establish the standard of service that continues in the practice today. As he enters retirement, his longstanding commitment to his patients and community remains an important part of the practice’s history.
